Deuba warns of House and street agitation

Kathmandu, July 22 (RSS): Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the NC would be compelled to launch an agitation if correction was not made in the bills related to media council and human rights. 

Addressing a programme organised by BP Museum Committee, Sundarijal, on the occasion of 37th memorial day of BP Koirala on Monday, President Deuba directed the party cadres to be in ready position to launch House and street agitation against any law brought to weaken independency against the sentiment of the constitution. He said BP has been established as the convergence of politics, ideology and literature in the Nepali society. Similarly, NC Joint General Secretary Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the campaign 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis' would be successful only on the basis of democratic norms and values. 

On the occasion, Tejman Tumbahamphe, 94, elected as the parliamentarian in the election held in 2015 BS, Rabindra Rai of Baraha municipality and Misaru Miya of Sunsari were awarded with Rs 100,000 prize for their contribution to Nepal's democratic movement.
