Solukhumbu, Oct 12 : An aircraft of Sita Air has escaped accident on Saturday. The twin-otter aircraft had a narrow escape as it had taken off towards Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla, of Solukhumbu from Manthali of Ramechhap.
Chief of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Ramechhap, Amit Kumar Chaurasiya, said the crew members made an emergency landing after the aircraft was hit by a bird in its wings.
The aircraft with call sign 9N-I-E of Sita air was flying towards Tenzing Hillary airport with 13 passengers and three crew members. Flights towards Lukla from Manthali airport are being operated since October 1. Earlier, it used to take place from Kathmandu airport.(RSS)
